"This is not a good time, Miss Implant."  Roman felt Jean-Luc jabbing him in the back with his walking stick.  "Uh, Porky. No, I mean--" Damn, what the hell was her name?

From Nicki of NYC—

Page 72, Connor speaking. "Beer?" In Connor's shocked voice, the final r seemed to roll for a full thirty seconds. "We have no beer, ma'am.  And the guards wouldna ever get drunk while on duty, I assure you."

He still had one fang, and was afraid he'd use it.

Oh, great, she was facedown in his lap. Her nostrils filled with the scent of he-man and fresh soap.

Notes from the Author

Roman Draganesti—I found Roman’s last name while studying a map of Romania.  Draganesti is the name of a small village in southern Romania, west of Bucharest.
Laszlo Veszto—I found Laszlo’s first name by going to a baby-naming site and looking for Hungarian names.  Veszto is the name of a small town in Hungary, close to the Romanian border.

Gregori Holstein—Gregori’s mother was born in Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic).  His father was an American of German descent.

Important Hint!  Page 119-120  There’s a secret regarding the daytime guards.

Trivia

Connor was once two Scotsmen—Connor and Bruce.  My editor felt they were too alike and asked me to combine them into one person during revisions.  Bruce died, and Connor survived, taking all of Bruce’s lines.

Does the first chapter seem a bit too zany?  I had the flu when I wrote it and was zonked out on cold medicine.

How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire sold within a week of being sent out by my agent.  Warner Books and Bantam were competing for it for several days when Avon Books acquired it in a pre-empt.  By the way, Warner Books wanted to change the title.

How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire was named the Bestselling Debut Book of 2005 by Border Books.

The current cover for How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire is actually the second cover produced for the book.  This was the first one—>>
