Twilight is not a REAL vampire story.

Sorry Twi-hard fans, but it's the truth.

I don't know what went through Meyer's brain when she decided to create some superficial myth of vampires who don't burn in the sunlight but merely sparkle and don't have fangs. Vampires are a myth, yes, but it's a REAL legend that goes back for centuries. The fact that her "Cold Ones" drink blood is the only thing that makes them a vampire but they have no fangs (which should make drinking blood messy), but they're never "dead", and they "sparkle" in the sunlight.

She should have just called them aliens or something... alien vampires. *shrug*

I read them, and they were all right (well, the last one was iffy), but you're right, they're not vampires! Alien vampires, LOL!
Not only do vampire myths go back centuries, but almost every culture that has existed on this planet has had some kind of vampire or vampire-like creature in it's mythology. Not to rag on Stephenie Meyer, but sparkly, fangless vampire-type thingies just don't do it for me!

heh.. I saw this posted somewhere: "harry potter is about confronting fears, finding inner strength and doing what is right in the face of adversity; Twilight tho is about how important it is to have a boyfriend."

And then it had this for a reply from someone: "skanky indians-wolfs"

I wasn't even looking for that, either. I "liked" the Harry Potter page of Facebook and that was the first comment posted (aside from one of my friends commenting how HP is on tv again.)
